What began a beautiful day on the Chattahoochee River at Morgan Falls, turned into a water logged rainout in less than an hour. But not before we were able to boat a nice striped bass. This one bit a LIVE Target Swimbait Threadfin http://amzn.to/2rxoRgS. I got a few nice hits with no hookup prior to this fish inhaling the swim bait. They’re out there. But there is a decent amount of pressure. Every time i kayak fishing Morgan Falls, there’s usually someone there before me in a boat or kayak specifically striper fishing. There’s not a lot of water to fish here. So I wait in the parking lot until they finish up. So be courteous to other anglers, give space, and expect to be casting at a group of fish who have seen every fluke in Bass Pro Shops over a weeks’ time. But… they’re in there. On this trip i was driven out by the torrential downpours. I probably could have stayed. The rain stopped by the time i had fished loading the gear. But, ya always gotta think about lighting… when kayaking near a power plant.
